document general comments

document should structured according to the following:

cover page with title, student name + numbers

contents

abstract

project introduction

project main body

project conclusion

references

all pages after the title page are to be numbered.

a consistent page layout is required.

general comments + things to consider:

title font

heading text font

running text font

caption font

legend font

reference font

these should all be consistent throughout document, they cannot change from page to page. remember that presentation and documents fronts may vary. print out a part of the document to see if it is legible.

makes sure that the text has room when you place text in a textbox. some of the text in the timeline is ‘squeezed.’

captions + sources should accompany all images + graphics

check spelling

do not have black line page frame. pages should be clear with text and graphics only. no borders and frames.

document should have consistency in font + font size

page numbers after cover page are a must

art as political critic/ oppostion - link to newtown/ market precinct/ history

group: art

in order to fully explore the layers and dimensions of the art context and network it might be useful to compile the following information into maps:
- a list of art institutions and galleries working in newtown, joubert park, arts on main, la
- find out how they operate: management, finances, key actors, projects
- a list of artists involved over time
- relate this to your time line

the mission

is to teach planners + design professionals relevant to the city of tomorrow by constructing an environment where general, architectural and urban issues are investigated in complexity + intensity. while acquiring the fundamental skills and knowledge base of the discipline, students will be taught to think critically about architecture + the city, as a situated environmental and social practice, and to engage in debates about the opportunities and dilemmas presented to it by transformations in society, diversity, culture, technology, climate and materials.

task 00 for tuesday
imagine where you will be in 2025
imagine how you live, play, work, laugh + love

describe in great detail the [ideal] urban environment you occupy.
your commute as in when + how you go to work + play.
describe the architecture, texture, transport routes, green space + city.

make at least 1 drawing of something urban that relates to your context.
you may supplement your pages with images+ whatever you deem necessary to communicate your ideas.
incorporate aspects of the text about small scale big change that was handed out today.
